


Have you ever wondered how many useless calories you can find in the classic cake our mums used to bake? Butter, sugar, flour and the list goes on. When you top it off with chocolate dressing, the calories explode even more. The worst? If you have it right in front of you, it’s nearly impossible to resist. So what can you do if you have a major sweet tooth and need a quick, easy and full-filling fix? You make this delicious guilt free cake, which happens -it is totally intended- to contain 0% sugar, believe it or not.
So here is what you will need for this delicious guilt free cake:
- 2 Oranges
- 250gr ground almonds (without the skin)
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsweetened syrup (or 1/2 honey if you prefer)
- 4 eggs
- cinnamon / nutmeg (I add a lot of cinnamon and just a bit of nutmeg)
- 1 + 1/2 scoop of protein powder ( I prefer chocolate or vanilla flavor) (Optional)
- raw chocolate chips (Optional)
- vanilla extract (or powder) (Optional)
How to do it:
- Boil the oranges for 1 hour.
- Put all the dry ingredients in a large cooking vessel and mix them all up.
- Mash up the boiled oranges (including their skin) in a mixer.
- Add the rest of the ingredients into the dry mix, as well as the orange puree.
- Mix them all up and your cake dough is ready (it will be a quite thick but runny texture).
- Put your mixture in a cake tin and straight into the oven.
- Bake for around 45-55 minutes at 200°C (if you’re not sure, stick a knife in it, so you can ensure it’s ok).
