Just wait!
In this post I’m not only sharing all the juicy little things you should know about the newest Bisou Balm formula *but* I’m also obsessing over the new Bisou Jelly release.
Can’t put these down, can I?
Of course I’m sharing Bisou Balm & Bisou Jelly swatches for your eyes only! Both on my hands and on the lips cause why not?
One last thing; if you’re with me for years you probably know about my last review of the brand but if you are new -well, I’m so happy you are here- you can have a read if you are interested in the amazing Yeux Paints too (the liquid eyeshadows of the brand).
Are you ready? Let’s go!
Bisou Balm Review
Since the last time I wrote a Bisou Balm review VIOLETTE_FR updated the formula.
And not only the formula, but also the shape of the lipstick.
Guess what? It’s way better now! I love both the new more hydrating version and the rounded shape.
It performs better and it applies better as well.
Here is everything you need to know:
-Bisou Balm is the ultimate sheer matte lipstick. For the girl or boy who wants definition on the lips without anyone noticing as it’s really undetectable on.
-It feels like velvet, glides on easily, hydrates and leaves a build-able wash of color behind without ever looking “too much”. It’s like a lightly tinted cloud is sitting on your lips. A dream!
-Bisou Balm is the best minimalistic lipstick for anyone looking for an easy lip product that looks natural no matter what.
-It’s also the solution for these days / occasions that you want to be polished BUT look like you don’t wear any makeup.
In your morning workout sessions at the gym, if you have a formal work interview, a first date or anything else you have in mind!
-The light vanilla, cookie scent adds to the whole experience. The only thing you have to do is to add it in your bag. You won’t need a mirror to put it on while doing your errands.
-It’s not for you if you like bold color or opaque formulas.
-It is for you if you are a minimal makeup babe that needs to look effortless.
Bisou Balm Swatches & Colors
-Bisou Balm in Calisson is an amazing mix of peachy/beige/brown a.k.a the perfect barely there nude if you need something for your “no makeup makeup” everyday life.
Or as a great choice when you want the focus on your eyes. It nicely balances out smokey eyes, glittery eye looks and bolder eye makeup in general. Beautiful!
-Bisou Balm in Bêtise is the best cherry red if you are a person that just can’t wear opaque red during the day.
If you find reds “too much” this is for you! Like you wiped off your favorite red and you’re now left with a nice stain.
-Bisou Balm in Bonbon Coquelicot is a nice orange-y, peachy color that looks amazing when you’re tanned in the Summer or if you have a deeper skin tone.
And it’s the last shade that I got.
Violette recently added to the shade range with two new hues; Bisou Balm in Rose Latte a pink latte shade that I’m eyeing and Bisou Balm in Bonbon Myrtille a blueberry candy color which I love for deeper skin tones.
Bisou Jelly Review
Ok I love Violette_FR as a brand in general.
So it was no surprise that when she came out with a different sheer lip product formula I -had to- give it a go.
Find all the details here:
-Bisou Jelly is a lipstick and a lip balm combined. It has an interesting pigmented core inside and a moisturizing jelly part on the outside.
-It’s super hydrating, velvety and gives a very natural sheen without looking overly glossy.
-It smells like freshly baked cookies but not in a sickly disturbing way!
-And adds a light build-able color on your lips.
-Bisou Jelly comes in four easy colors to throw on.
-It is not for you if you need an opaque colored lip balm or if you love extra glossiness.
-It’s perfect for you if you need a minimal, aesthetically pleasing and hydrating sheer balm for everyday and any time of the day.
Bisou Jelly Swatches & Colors
As I wanted to test out the Bisou Jelly formula, I only got one shade in case I didn’t like it that much.
Both wrong don’t come at me! My mommy brain doesn’t always function 100%. Right toddler moms?
I loved the formula and I picked the wrong shade for my skin tone. I’ll try better next time!
-Bisou Jelly in Bonbon Caramel is a warm kind of brown-y nude that is too warm for my fair neutral-to-cool complexion. But if you are warmer or darker than me it will look perfect!
-Bisou Jelly in Bonbon à la Rose is a soft nude pink that looks like a candy. I think it will be great for fair to medium skin tones.
-Bisou Jelly in Pomme D’Amour is a bright apple red perfect if you like red in a more shiny form.
-Bisou Jelly in Aïssa is a berry hue that I like a lot (and it may be my next shade) as it looks mysterious and vampy. Love it for day and night.
