I have a confession to make. I am addicted to face products. Yes, I admit it. Every product intended for the face, I love; especially foundations. I love their bottles, their smell, their consistency, everything. But as an oily kind of girl, I always struggle to find the one, that doesn’t make me more oily, brakes me out, and gives me enough coverage, without making me look like a cake face.
So after years and years of reading and watching raving reviews about the Estee Lauder Doublewear foundation , plus a brilliant sale at Sephora, I convinced myself that I had to -finally- try it.
As a -natural looking makeup- lover, I was scared to give it a shot, and that’s the reason it took me so long to bring it home with me. I thought it would be too thick for my taste, as it claims medium to full coverage and stay all day performance. Things that I usually dislike in a product description. But, I couldn’t be more wrong.
First of all, the color range is excellent. It offers colors for really pale skin tones, to really deep skin tones. It also has shades for all skin undertones, the letter C is for cool undertones, N is for neutral undertones and W is for warm undertones. Every shade has a letter to state its undertone. For example, I have the color 2N1 dessert beige, because neutral undertones suit my skin color the most. This is more like my summer shade and I will definitely buy a lighter shade for winter cause I am addicted. Can you tell?
From the first time I tried it, I was sold. Amazing skin in a bottle, that lasts all day even on my very oily skin. In terms of consistency, it is not thick at all. It has a creamy-runny texture that glides on the skin beautifully, giving perfect coverage while hiding all the imperfections. I found that it applies better with a very dampened beauty blender which makes it look more natural and you can build it up easily if you need to. It performs even better, when you have moisturized your skin very well before the application. If I had to name a negative thing about doublewear is that it doesn’t come with a pump, but for me, isn’t a big deal after all.
I am so addicted to it that I haven’t touched any other foundation since I’ve tried it. I use it every day, and by night it still looks perfect, making me not want to remove it at all -I do remove it obviously. Now I’m dying to try the lighter version of it, the Double Wear Nude Water Fresh Makeup and see if this formula is better.
Have you tried it yet? Any thoughts?
