    August Makeup Favorites 2016

My favorite time of the year aka summer, has come to an end. Yes, I know sad times for me and all the sandy beaches and salty hair lovers. However, August was a really fun month, with lots of traveling, beautiful places in Greece, lots of ice-cream and of course lots of experimenting in the makeup area. Some new discoveries that I fell for, some existing favorites and a new product that was quite a surprise for me.

So, here are all the products I used constantly all month long.

Sculpting Powder in medium / Kevyn Aucoin

When I think of sharp, beautifully sculpted cheekbones, this is the only product that comes in my mind. If you like natural looking sculpted cheekbones with no orange undertones, then this is for you. Its grey cool undertones can make you go from a light cheekbone enhancement to killer cheekbones in an instant, depending on your taste. It looks amazing on fair, light and medium complexions. I used it all summer nonstop, combined with a bit of bronzer for a tanned look. Try it and you’ll never be disappointed.

Naked Skin Concealer / Urban Decay

This thing is out of this world. It is lightweight, creamy, super blendable, and has amazing coverage. Remember all these summer nights that you had too much fun and no sleep at all? This concealer has your back every time. All those panda looking mornings are gone forever.
I am already in the second tube and I’m assuming that this love affair will continue for quite a while..

Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed / Becca

I got it in the shade Opal and I have to say, it’s THE highlighter. The glorious gold pigment is surely there to make you glow, even from a long distance. The product itself, as well as the packaging feel very expensive, and in my opinion, it is worth every penny. Combined with another August favorite, the F35 tapered highlighter brush from Sigma, makes it a killer combo. Super glowy cheeks? Yes please!

F35 Tapered Highlighter Brush / Sigma

A product from my last Cult Beauty order, is the F35 Tapered Highlighter brush from Sigma. It is the perfect brush for highlighting the cheekbones, nose, or wherever you fancy. It is so soft, that applies the product seamlessly without any extra effort from you. Since I got it, I never looked back, and it’s the only one I use for that purpose. Get it and thank me later.

Goof Proof Brow Pencil / Benefit

As I was brow-sing Sephora online, I saw the new brow line from Benefit. I was tempted to try the brow pencil with the wider tip, as I find it fills brows way quicker than the pencils with the ultra fine tip. Pencils with tiny tips are great for girls that need a lot of work on the brows, but girls like me who just need to fill in just small sparse areas, a pencil with wide tip will do the job quickly. So I got the Goof Proof Brow in the shade 2, and it’s amazing. It glides on smoothly, stays in place and the spoolie on the other side makes things way easier. What else you could ask for from a brow product?

Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks / Stila

It’s not a secret that I’m a big fan of the crazy liquid lipstick trend. All the brands came out with a range, making me want to empty my wallet in a second. Sad stories, I know. They remind me of the instagram meme picture with the hundreds packs of dollars, that says “If I ever got back the money I’ve spent on Sephora”.

My favorite brands so far are Jouer and Stila. But during the past month, I’ve discovered two colors from the Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks range from Stila, and I couldn’t stop wearing them. I got the shades Caramello and Ricco.

Caramello is the perfect nude for fair skin; it’s not too light, or too dark. It’s the perfect combination of beige, pink and brown. I wear it non stop everyday since I got it. Ricco on the other hand, is a dark burgundy color, with red and brown undertones, perfect for the evening hours. If you pair it with minimal makeup on the rest of the face, and subtle gold shadow on the eyes, you create the ultimate runway look.

Their thin consistency and doe foot applicator, make them super easy to apply. However, the darker shades need a liner underneath in order to look perfect. They stay on the lips for hours comfortably, without the crusty feeling other liquid lipsticks have. They smell nice as well. Obsessed!

    Nail Polishes / H&M

I have to admit that I’m not attracted often by products like that. I always loved more high end and luxury brands. But as I was strolling around H&M to find some workout t-shirts, I crossed their beauty section, and saw some amazing nail polish colors. Without any expectations, I got two colors to try. And what a surprise! They are amazing. Their brush reminds Nails Inc’s wide brushes, that make them apply quick and easy. Their opaque color and longevity makes you think that you’re dealing with an expensive nail polish, but you’re not. My favorite color is Champurrado, a mix of beige, grey, mauve and brown; perfect for everyday. I can’t wait to try more. Well done H&M!
