Is Bottega Veneta Mini Jodie still worth it in 2023? And my answer for this is definitely yes. Don’t get me wrong, I’m well aware of the major hype this piece is known for, but despite that I never fall into trends, I’ve made an exception just for her. Why?
Well, I surely have my reasons, but they are far from Instagram fashion girls and celebrities wearing it everywhere. Do I get inspiration on how to style it or admire the outfits? Yes! Was my decision based on the Jodie being nearly on every post that I see? No.
Bottega Veneta was always a brand that I admired. I remember strolling around the Parisian store in my 20s, being mesmerized by the luxury weave design on every accessory. But I always thought of it as a “grown up” brand. Now, Bottega Veneta is way different and although it has become a brand for younger ages too, it still has the timeless luxury feel instilled into most of the items.

Impeccable Quality Always Wins
It’s not a secret that Bottega Veneta is a brand well known for its craftsmanship and heritage. The mini Jodie could not be excluded from that. The leather is butter soft, the weaving is beautiful and perfected to the smallest detail and the gold zip closure feels heavy and sturdy -almost difficult to open and close.
The impeccable quality of this piece cannot be denied and it’s hands down one of the most important reasons I love it so much. It is art in the form of a bag. Effortlessly designed but still perfect.
The super soft handle makes me happy just by holding it, so this is for sure a good excuse to wear it for the years to come, isn’t it?
Versatility Like No Other
And when we’re talking about versatility we mean it. From day to night and from Summer to Winter, Jodie, will never let you down.
I’ve seen it paired with super formal maxi dresses to jeans & t-shirt, to power business suits or airy Summer linen dresses. I’ve also imagined it styled with nearly everything that I own. Believe me, it looks amazing with all my collection. You can make it work with anything and the size is just right. Not too big to go full-on formal, not too small for daytime adventures.
The only thing to keep in mind is that it is a bag that needs to be “broken in”. As much as you’re using it and adding your stuff in, it loosens up a bit and becomes even better and easier to use.
Longevity Over The Years
Another thing that makes me believe that the Jodie is an ideal bag is the longevity aspect. A piece with that quality is sure to last for years to come if you show it a little love and care.
I could easily compare it with a good high quality wine; it just gets better with time. The leather will soften up and the more “worn” look will be the best friend to a girl that loves the effortless vibe.
The key here is the timeless color choice. Choose between the classic ones like black or gray and skip the extreme ones if you aim to wear it for longer.
Trendy But Not
Bottega has done it again and although they are releasing the one major trend after the other, they still come out with pieces like the mini Jodie, that are modern yet have a timeless feel to them.
I could easily imagine wearing my beloved black one 6 years from now, hopefully in a Parisian café where I firstly fell in love with the brand. But what if the “trend” disappears? What if the it-girls stop wearing it? So, what?
The mini Jodie is so beautiful that I will wear mine no matter what. I strongly see it as an investment bag due to the classic design with the super chic details that will always look good. I can bring it out whenever I fancy a small chic touch to an outfit. What’s better than this?
If you choose a bright purple one you should consider it as a trendy piece. But if go for the simple ones then it’s a win for the long term.
Final Thoughts To Help You Decide
So if you want a chic bag with decent size that you can easily grab and go day and night no matter the season, then you’ll fully enjoy the mini Jodie by Bottega Veneta.
The only thing that needs a bit of attention before you indulge in its gloriousness is the way you are going to use it. If you are searching for a high quality bag to fit in all your stuff in the morning, then I wouldn’t recommend the mini Jodie as you’ll find it too small. It can fit your phone, credit card, a few makeup items, a cereal bar and your keys -max.
I would opt for the Jodie Teen which has all the brilliant features of the mini Jodie, but in a bigger more convenient size for all the stylish busy bees out there.
On the other hand, if you are totally ok with the size, then go for it and you won’t regret it at all.
