I used to hate SPF. There I said it! Since finding the best SPF for oily skin, I don’t even remember the old days when the only thing that scared me during Summer -apart from bees & wasps- was sunscreen bottles.
A few years back all the SPF products were thick, oily and the only thing that they were leaving behind was a beautiful -not- white cast. Not to mention the breakouts and clogged pores to all of us oily and acne prone girls.
Whatever touched my face caused me more acne and if you have the same skin type I’m sure you know this struggle! I was in a mission to find the best of the best.
Luckily, the time has come and sunscreens are undetectable, lightweight and offer more things than they used to. Many clogged pores and blemishes later, I’ve found the only ones you need to be protected and acne-free! From a “sea” of fancy, super hyped ones, let me show you what really works.
So oily girls -and boys- are you ready?
BEST SPF FOR OILY SKIN
LA ROCHE-POSAY ANTHELIOS UVMUNE 400 INVISIBLE FLUID SPF50+ SUN CREAM
When I think of the BEST SPF for oily skin I want it to be 2 things -apart from the obvious, to not break me out- lightweight and effective.
This one has all these and more. It has a runny, thin consistency that you can apply quickly in the morning, smells like jasmine and isn’t sticky after a few minutes.
The best part is that it looks amazing under foundation and tinted moisturizer acting like the perfect moisturizing primer. Plus, it’s also beautiful in photos. Bingo!
And since I wear SPF all year round -and you should too- I love this because it has a reasonable price. I go through a lot of bottles so price counts on this one.
It always keeps me sunburn-free and makes my skin look healthy and juicy. What’s better than this? 10/10
LA ROCHE-POSAY ANTHELIOS ANTI-SHINE SUN PROTECTION INVISIBLE SPF50+ FACE MIST
Ok now, since most of the days I wear makeup, I want something to add on top of that after a couple of hours of being out.
Greece’s sun doesn’t play games, so you always have to have the best tools in your bag. One of these tools is hands down this spray SPF from La Roche-Posay.
Makeup free or not you can get this out any time and just spray it on your face to top up the sunscreen you’ve put in the morning.
Easy as that. It doesn’t mess with what you have on your skin, doesn’t make you oilier and doesn’t cause break outs. Again it has a nice smell and the light mist spreads evenly on all areas of the face without leaving annoying bigger drops here and there.
A Summer hand bag essential for sure not only for oily people but for everyone as well. I definitely prefer a spray SPF rather that powder SPF alternatives, as they never look natural on the skin and I always end up looking caked up.
No thanks! I’ll get the spray.
Rodial SPF 50 Drops
I know I said I like affordable SPF products but once I tried these Rodial SPF 50 Drops from a sample, I totally fell in love. So casually, I bought the full size.
The packaging with the pipette that drops the product excites me in ways you can’t even imagine. And as for the actual product? Divine. Velvety, hydrating, perfect as a base for makeup.
It doesn’t break me out or make me more oily and leaves the skin extra juicy! The scent? Even greater, like heaven. These Rodial SPF drops offer a spa-like experience on their own. Exaggerating? Maybe.
If you fancy a fancier SPF product to make your mornings feel luxurious then I totally recommend it!
But of course don’t feel that you need an SPF this expensive to be protected from the sun. It’s totally up to you and where you like to splurge or not.
Shiseido Expert Sun Protector Face And Body Lotion SPF50+
Last but not least, the Expert (or Ultimate) Sun Protector from Shiseido that feels like a silky dream on your face.
I wanted to try it for years and years due to the hype but was a bit too scared due to my acne-prone skin. Thankfully, it didn’t disappoint.
In fact, was I under a rock all this time? Couldn’t be happier that I finally tried this because it’s insane!
The most creamy, balmy, hydrating -yet not oily- gel-like formula that transforms into healthy semi-matte skin after a few minutes. Again doesn’t cause breakouts and isn’t sticky at all.
And for the smell? It’s like fresh Summery lemons. Love it!
I know these are just a few SPF options, but they are truly the best SPF for oily skin that don’t interrupt my sensitive skin. It’s all about products that perform not too many options or the latest launch. Are you with me?
So, if you’re struggling with sunscreens then give one of these a go. I’m sure you’ll love them as much as I do.
