• 3 Steps To Cover Dark Under Eye Circles

    3-steps-to-cover-dark-under-eye-circles

We all love to look like we’ve had 8 hours of sleep, don’t we? Bright eyes and not even a hint of dark circles. Sounds good isn’t it? Unfortunately, the truth is far apart from that. Late nights in, Netflix and chilling or working until late hours, leave their marks under my eyes. I so wish that I could keep up with the phrase “Today, I’ll go to bed early”, but let’s be real, it doesn’t happen -ever.

Luckily, there are some makeup items that act like under-eye-darkness erasers and I see it as a mission to find the best, as I’m getting older. The results? I do 3 steps every time I do my makeup, that include the threesome correct-conceal-set and I must say that I am really impressed from their effectiveness; although, that won’t stop me from trying new combinations. So let’s jump to the magic trio, shall we?

Mac / Prep + Prime Highlighter

I have this highlighting pen in the shade Radiant Rose and it is actually heaven; especially, when it comes to correcting those blue, purple, green veins under the eyes, due to its pink undertone. It has a very light and thin consistency, making it easy to apply, as well as look extremely natural -there’s nothing on your face kind of thing. I wear it alone on the no-makeup, makeup days and still manages to brighten beautifully this delicate area, without any creasing at all. On the days that I need something extra -most of the days, I top it off with concealer. If you have blue or green tones under your eyes, you should definitely try something like this, as far as it has pink/salmon color.

Urban Decay / Naked Skin Concealer

My love for this concealer is still strong, as it’s not the first time I’m obsessing over it on the blog. You can see all the details on my August Favorites post. The only change? Lucky us, Urban Decay is finally on Sephora Greece website and I couldn’t be happier. I apply it over the pink corrector with a damp beauty blender and any kind of darkness is gone. Obviously, you can choose any concealer you may have.

Laura Mercier / Secret Brightening Powder

Well, I was searching for a long time something to set my under eyes, as well as brighten up the area -even more; I find that certain powders meant for the face, tend to darken a bit all the work done from the concealers, or look too cake-y on me. Who wants cake-y under eyes that emphasize fine lines? Not me, for sure. So, I tried Secret Brightening Powder, which is made specifically for under eyes and I’m really satisfied from the results. It really brightens and sets the concealer perfectly, without any creasing during the day. It is a fine, sparkly, white colored powder that works well both applied with a damp sponge, or a brush. Note that you can only see the sparkly bits, only if you look at yourself close to a mirror; otherwise no one else can see it.

Which is your favorite combo to battle dark circles? Don’t keep this secret to yourself!
