There are amazing makeup trends for 2022 and no one can say the opposite. They are definitely exciting and since it’s Summer time trying some of them on looks even more enticing, isn’t it?
But do you ever feel pushed from magazines or social media that you “have to” try all the makeup trends existing in that period or you’re old-fashioned? It’s totally normal to feel a bit out of the “trend party” if you don’t like certain stuff. But guess what; you don’t have to follow anything if you don’t originally love it.
I prefer using the same makeup products daily rather than trying on things I don’t absolutely adore. Even if that means I’m not one of the -cool ones- out there. Trusting you own vision and following things just because you like them -and not because of social media- really is key.
Today, I’m showing you 5 makeup trends I refuse to try and why, even if they look insane on other people.
The Thin Eyebrow
Like what? Am I the only one that can’t stand thin eyebrows? I think that most of you are with me. Right?
In my opinion the perfect eyebrow for each one of us is our natural eyebrow and maybe perfected a bit depending on the brow shape you want to achieve. I’m not a fun of over plucking and I think it makes all the other features of the face look weird.
Of course this is just my personal view on this trend and I would never ever do it; but if you are a fan or suits your face, then do you. Whatever makes you happy.

Face Gem Stickers
Ok now, I love face gem stickers and I love looking at gorgeous creations featuring little sparkly dots, stars or hearts. My favorite are the looks that have them placed around the eyes or high on the cheekbones from Instagram goddesses -that surely know how to do makeup.
I, on the other hand can’t imagine myself doing this. I’m frustrated just from thinking of it. Maybe it’s the fact that I’m not 17 anymore or that I don’t have much spare time for playing around with makeup (just for fun) that makes me think of this like that.
But what can you do?

White Eyeliner Trend
From all the makeup trends of 2022 this is by far my least favorite one. You can see editorial makeup including white cat-eyeliners or white eyeliner designs in general. As well as Instagram fashion girls or everyday girls and boys have it on.
Sorry guys but I don’t like it even on Gigi Hadid. I think that white eyeliner takes away from the beauty of the eyes and makes them weird looking. I cannot stand it at all. I’ve never seen a white eyeliner that I liked and that says it all.

Negative Space Eye Designs
It’s true that some of the social media people I follow just know how to master over-the-top makeup looks. It’s also true that you may have fallen into images of beautiful girls having amazing makeup with negative space eye designs.
As much as I like to see this on other people, negative space designs just aren’t for me. Too much effort, too much eye makeup, too much in general. I think that I wouldn’t feel like myself.
So I’m good with just browsing pictures on the internet and not trying this at all.

Lower Lash Line Fanciness
From when I was a little girl passionately looking at fashion & beauty magazines, I disliked anything that had to do with lower lash line designs. Again, I think that it makes the eyes look weird and someway un-natural.
I love a smoked out eyeshadow and lower waterline liner but only that concerning the lower part of the eye. Just don’t talk to me about below the lash line lines. I can’t stand them. I guess you’ll never see me wearing this trend at all costs.

Final Thoughts On Makeup Trends 2022
Take this post as a fun conversation about makeup, because makeup is that; a relaxing way to have fun, boost your confidence, try things or erase things from your face or create art.
I love makeup trends, I love watching them closely, I love trying some of them and I love being inspired. This year has amazing ones like the super radiant natural skin, the bronzed skin and the bright lips. It also has all the above that some adore and some -including me- dislike. As they say it is what it is.
Now your turn. What’s your favorite one and your least favorite? Let me know in the comments!
