If you are like me and you love your everyday makeup to look natural but still defined, minimal, effortless and all that under 10 minutes, then you definitely need to consider monochrome makeup.
Without exaggeration, it is the number one way to achieve a beautiful makeup look that looks well balanced and polished in no time. The best part? You can do it literally anywhere if you have the right products with you -and you’ll need just a few.
This technique never fails to help me achieve a beautiful look whether I’m doing my makeup in front of my bathroom mirror or in the car while rushing to get somewhere -not me behind the wheel by the way, safety first girls.
So if your goal is quick, easy and gorgeous makeup for the days that you feel you can’t do it due to your enormous to-do list or just need an instant boost of confidence to look put together, keep reading to find out how you’ll do it!
Just One Product To Multitask With
Although monochrome makeup means doing your makeup by using the same hues of color all over the face, aka if you use pink on the lips then it will be pink cheeks and pink eyes as well, that doesn’t mean you have to use different products to achieve it. And that’s exactly why monochrome makeup is the ultimate choice when you don’t have time and need to do your makeup in 5 minutes.
The magic of monochromatic makeup looks is that you can create a brilliant look by using just one product. What product? It is totally up to you. You can do it with one of your favorite lipsticks, a cream blush or a product specifically made to multitask.
You can find some of my recommendations below or feel free to use what you already have and love. I love using Huda Beauty Power Bullet Matte Lipstick in Staycation as I absolutely love the beig-y tones for eyes, cheeks and lips.
No Thought Process Required For A Monochromatic Makeup Look
The second reason of why this technique is perfect for the busy bee’s out there is that you don’t have to think about nearly anything. No color combinations, no what product looks good next to an other product etc.
The only thing to consider is what product you want to use. Is it your favorite peachy cream blush? Is it a matte lipstick with beige undertones like mine? You just grab it and go. Boom!
How amazing is that?

No Tools Required
Last but surely not least is the lack of tools. The only thing you need to do a monochrome makeup look is just your fingers. The quickest tool ever in my opinion.
Forget brushes, sponges or any other tool you may use. If you have a few minutes more of course perfect the blending even more with some brushes or a beauty blender, but what I’m saying is that you don’t have to.
A fact that makes the whole process feel like a dream. Just get the one product you’ll use and get out the door. Simple as that.

Final Thoughts
Remember my post about the essential products to have in your makeup bag to create quick & easy looks in the car? If you don’t know what I’m talking about you can read it here. It features my favorite products for doing your makeup on the go.
Consider adding a multitasking product like the ones in this post to add in your on-the-go makeup bag and thank me later.
And if you can’t be bothered having a makeup bag outside, just add your favorite multitasking product in your bag and do little touch ups whenever you find the time.
What is your color of choice for a monochrome look? I love beige-brown or neutral coral hues. Hit me in the comments!
