vitamin c serums for oily skin

I know Vitamin C serums for oily skin can be tricky and that’s why I removed the thought process and the endless search for you.

And why Vitamin C is important for your skin? I love it because it brightens spots, acne scars, has anti-aging properties, protects the skin from forming dark spots *and* makes the skin smooth & glowy. What’s better than this?

I never skip to use a Vitamin C serum in the morning, as I find it keeps my skin healthy and my overall skin tone even. Plus it adds an extra layer of hydration without making me more oily. Woohoo!

So basically I have my top 3 choices starting from the lower price point and thinner consistency and going up both on price and thicker formula so you can easily pick your favorite.

P.S. I love all of them and it depends on which texture I’m enjoying each period on what I’ll use in my morning skincare routine.

    Shall we?

LA ROCHE-POSAY PURE VITAMIN C10 SERUM

La Roche-Posay Pure Vitamin C10 Serum

Let’s start with a Vitamin C serum I’ve been using for years! The famous Pure Vitamin C10 Serum from La Roche-Posay.

In this point I don’t even know how many bottles I’ve been through with this one. And it’s the one I keep having a backup of in my skincare cupboard.

Why? It’s just easy. Thin but creamy formula and super hydrating. It absorbs quickly into the skin and you can add your moisturizer almost immediately after, which is a great thing for me.

I’m not the complicated “100 steps girl” in skincare so I want my products to work as quick as possible. So anything that sinks in fast gets a 10/10 from me.

Especially when we are talking about this Vitamin C serum that always helps my oily, acne-prone skin feel its best. It never breaks me out, never makes me more oily or feels too heavy.

My skin is always brighter and my acne scars fade away easily. Well done La Roche!

Plus, each bottle lasts me around 2.5 months with daily use.

    C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum

SUNDAY RILEY C.E.O. 15% Vitamin C Brightening Serum

Now this Vitamin C serum from Sunday Riley is a pleasure to work with.

Especially in the mornings on clean skin followed by my favorite moisturizer. It’s a super lightweight gel-cream formula that absorbs quickly and gives the perfect amount of moisture.

Not too much nor too little. It brightens, helps with discoloration and gives a beautiful glow. The C.E.O. serum is one of the best Vitamin C serums for oily skin, as it never irritates my sensitive acne-prone complexion.

If you break out with nearly everything, I’m sure you know exactly what I mean, right?

One thing that gives this serum 5-stars isn’t the luxurious feel and the beautiful scent, but it’s the packaging too.

I prefer Vitamin C in a bottle with a pump like this, as it oxidizes fast and this packaging keeps it “safer” and more effective for longer.

    I love it!

    MEDIK8 C-TETRA LUXE

    Medik8 C-Tetra Luxe

A Vitamin C serum that has the benefits of Vitamin C along with the moisturizing properties of Vitamin E.

It has a velvety oil consistency that never really “disappears” from my skin. It’s like you can rub it in as long as you want and still feel the “velvety” slide on your skin. This doesn’t stop me from adding my moisturizer on top of it with zero problems. As well as applying my makeup on top of it all.

It’s not an oil that makes me greasy, it’s just more rich than your regular Vitamin C serums. Making it ideal for Winter time or any time you need the extra nourishment.

C-Tetra is very moisturizing, makes my oily skin glow in the best way possible and is gentle too.

If you want a thin formula that sinks in immediately you won’t like this, but if you don’t have a problem with a slightly heavier product then you should definitely give it a go.

I also enjoy its citrusy scent in the mornings.

    So refreshing!

Whatever you do, do not forget to use a sunscreen after using Vitamin C! And if you need some great recommendations for oily skin, I’ve got you covered here.

Which is your Vitamin C serum of choice right now?
